💭 About Stotles

Our mission is to unlock the potential of business and government working better, together.

The partnership between business and government is vital in making our communities productive & cohesive, but inefficiency and beaurocracy is currently the norm. We are using a modern approach to change this.

Our SaaS platform gives businesses a clear view of opportunities to work with the public sector, and the tools needed to manage them. We are bringing together a massive amount of messy government data to bring clarity and transparency to a space that desperately needs it.

Since launching our private beta in early 2020, we've seen fantastic traction from industry leading customers such as UiPath, Slack, Freshworks, Couchbase, and many others.

💡 About this role

Comp. range: £5,500 - 6,500 per month (Depending on experience) Contract Timeline: **~mid-August to ~mid-January (some flexibility on exact timing) Location: Remote. Ability to visit our office in London from time-to-time is preferred

We are looking for an ambitious UI/UX Designer that is passionate about creating elegant designs and enabling seamless experiences that get users to "wow" .

The public sector market has been starved of the ability to understand their own world because the existing tools are archaic and clunky. This role is an opportunity to bring a beautiful & intuitive tool to people who desperately need it, and raise the bar of what is possible.

You'll be covering for the talented Irina Predescu during her maternity leave. As the only designer on the team, you'll be a key pillar in our world-class product team. You'll work with our CPO Carsten, CTO Piotr and the whole engineering team in order to gain a deep understanding of our users, craft effective features to solve their problems, and bring our evolving product to life.

With a strong culture of ownership and responsibility, we believe that our job is not done until the job is done. We take pride in delivering the highest quality, intuitive products that make discovering and actioning opportunities in the public sector effortless and fun for our users.

🔑 What you'll do

  • Develop professional, beautiful, and more than anything, amazingly functional and intuitive designs for the core features our customers use every day
  • Run the customer development process with Carsten, our CPO. Organising, running, & analysing user feedback and discovery calls
  • Take hypotheses, user stories, & customer insights and translating them into high (or low) fidelity prototypes, iterating on these ideas with customers & the product team to arrive at your final designs
  • Define, maintain, and iterate on our design system
  • Research, collect, and digest best-in-breed design practices, and implement them here at Stotles

⌨️ What we're looking for

  • Experience we're looking for
  • Qualities we're looking for

Most importantly, we're looking for people that are curious, ambitious and love to learn new things, so if for any reason you don't fit our requirements but are passionate about our vision, don't hesitate to apply!

📈 How you'll learn and grow

We believe that individual learning and progression is extremely important. Here are some of the things you will learn as you go:

  • Customer development: cut your teeth throughout the entire customer development cycle
  • Engineering: Deepen your ability to build out your designs
  • Mentoring: The team is growing!
  • And more!

📆 What you'll do in a typical week

  • Customer discovery - Organize, plan, and run customer and user sessions to:
    • Gather open ended feedback
    • Validate concepts and designs
    • Conduct usability testing
  • Creating - Use everything in your toolkit, and the great insights you've gathered, to create best-in-class prototypes and mock-ups
  • Iterating - Advising and supporting the engineering team to implement and refine new features
  • Knowledge sharing sessions - learn about our stack and business developments. Teach the team design principles, systems, and best practices
  • Weekly Product & Engineering meeting - We operate on weekly sprints to discuss outcomes, and plan tasks for the following week.
  • Bi-weekly product meeting - discuss the latest changes to the product and roadmap. We believe everyone should have a say in the direction of the product, but your voice will be loud in this meeting!
  • Food, drinks & snacks - join for lunch together, topping up the snack supply or drinks on a Friday - we like to explore what the area has to offer.
