Why Join walt.id?

The web is broken; you are not in control of your data, you are completely dependent on platforms that lock you in, fraud is flourishing and user experience is painful (passwords, forms, video identification).

What if you could go back 30 years and fix these issues before they even exist?

We didn’t invent a time machine (yet), but we offer you an opportunity to fix the web for good and “put your dent in the universe” by creating some of the core building blocks for the web’s future.

We’re a startup (2021) composed of serial entrepreneurs, experienced engineers and backed by one of Europe’s most successful VCs as well as angels and advisors who are leading their fields.

We only work on big problems that have the potential to change the world forever and we start out by building the web’s missing identity layer. We’re not a consumer-facing company, instead we’re building the open source infrastructure that enables developers and organizations to build identity and trust into the web and their applications.
