We are cooking up the fastest and most enjoyable shopping and cooking experience in the world. We want to help busy families and those overwhelmed by the pressures of daily life ultimately enjoy this chore. We are laser focused on building a product that doesn't just look after everyone but our planet too, so helping to reduce the £10 billion of food waste thrown away every year is a huge priority for us.

Our diverse founding team have built businesses such as Monzo, Curve and our backers have scaled companies like Ocado, Innocent, Babylon and Deliveroo. We know what it takes to build products enjoyed by millions of people across the world. In order for us to complete our mission though, we need to find likeminded folks who care about the same things we do - that's where you come in.

 

The role:

As our interim Head of Growth & Marketing you’ll be reporting directly to Tom Foster-Carter, our CEO/Founder. Your goal is to setup and deliver an ambitious growth plan over the next 3 months (potentially longer) and support us with hiring a permanent candidate for this role.

You'll be strategic in your approach and know what impact your efforts are having from the first moment someone hears about Lollipop, through to them being a weekly user that tells all their friends about us.

You have a passion for marketing, innovation and solving real customer problems. You’re someone who makes things happen despite ambiguity, and can calmly handle periods of breakneck scaling and moments of chaos.

👋 What your day-to-day will include:

  • Planning and Strategy: Overseeing all of our growth and marketing efforts, ensuring we have an effective plan & strategy in place for establishing a product market fit and hitting aggressive business growth targets.
  • Growing Lollipop: Attracting, converting, and creating lifetime advocates out of our customers. This means intense collaboration to ensure our paid, owned, and earned channels are cohesive and optimised collectively. You’ll grow Lollipop by...
    • Running performance and paid acquisition across multiple channels. Continuously optimising by scientifically running tests to improve cost per acquisition, landing page conversion, search rankings and other key metrics.
    • Overseeing our community & content team to start building formidable organic growth and super sticky customers by developing a community, distributing consistently high quality content, and establishing a strong presence across key social media channels.
    • Supporting our Communications Strategist and PR agency to earn opportunities to increase the awareness of Lollipop and our mission at a national level.
    • If there’s time, exploring more traditional marketing channels to achieve your goals and seizing opportunities to create new ones.
  • Owning the numbers: You will understand what's happening with the business by implementing goals and producing the data required to measure performance against them. You’ll set, agree and own the marketing budget to keep your goals on track and share all of this understanding and insight reflexively in regular reporting with the entire team.
  • Support our hiring efforts: Supporting us in our efforts to find a permanent candidate for this role by evaluating candidates, interviewing, and identifying ways we can improve our search.

Benefits

💪 Logistics

  • Rate: £300 - £400 p/d (depending on experience) Outside IR35
  • Start Date: Ideally immediate start
  • Contract Duration: 3 months initially - potential for rolling if working for both sides
  • Location: UK remote with occasional travel to London office
