We Make Websites are a Shopify Plus agency with a team spread across London, New York, Toronto, Vancouver, Miami, and Los Angles. Our team of 90+ people design, develop, and elevate e-commerce websites for some of the world's largest companies. Brands we work with include Hasbro, Good American, A.P.C, Alessi, Pangaia, and Levi's. 

We have a fantastic opportunity for an Account Director to join our growing Client Services team in the UK.

Reporting to the Head of Client Services, the Account Director will work across some of our largest accounts as a trusted adviser, building deep relationships with executive-level clients.

The Client Services team is responsible for commercial targets related to account growth and works closely with our Product, Solutions, Design, and Development teams to unlock opportunities for our clients and us.

As our company grows, there is room to progress into a management role with this position.

This role would suit somebody who thrives in a fast-paced environment, is passionate about e-commerce/DTC brands/technology, and is from an agency background.


Responsible for the client experience and the commercial success of our business.

  • You will ensure WMW delivers an exceptional client experience at all times, working closely with your internal teams to implement better ways of working and identify new opportunities for work with new and existing clients.
  • You will be responsible for meeting the commercial targets set for your accounts, ensuring we achieve a meaningful margin across all workstreams including projects and our ongoing client work.
  • When your clients get close to financial year planning, you will work with them to roadmap the next 12 months helping them plan budget forecasts.
  • You will lead relationships with senior client stakeholders, acting as a trusted advisor, able to put relevant ideas and opportunities forward.
  • You will have a deep understanding of your client's business and our capabilities.
  • Working closely with our Product, Design, and Solutions teams, you will develop and implement account growth strategies that achieve our targets and deliver client success.
  • You will work closely with senior management to create revenue forecasts for the year and actionable quarterly targets.
  • You will motivate and inspire your teams and the wider agency to deliver best-in-class solutions.
  • You will support your team in resolving client escalations and reporting to senior leadership.
  • You have 5-10 years experience working in an e-commerce agency.
  • You have a keen interest in e-commerce and the types of clients we attract, including fashion, lifestyle, beauty, food, and innovative FMCG brands.
  • You’ll relish the chance to help our clients solve challenging problems.
  • You’re organized and have excellent attention to detail.
  • You’re passionate about all things tech, digital, and design.
  • You’re comfortable with the concept of change and working in a fast-paced environment.
  • You have exceptional communication skills and be comfortable discussing your work with senior team members and clients.
  • You’re a smart, proactive, fast-learning team player.
